The Hype Chart Feels the Love
Welcome to this week’s Last.fm Hype Chart, the place to find out the acts rising fastest among the world’s music fans. Last week saw R.I.O. feat. Nicco take their Eurodance to the top, but who’s made it this week?
Read on with Last.fm Originals to find out the three hottest acts right now.
Standing firm at #3 for a second week, London four-piece Lawson are riding the buzz of “When She Was Mine” a little longer. With 1,248 listeners in the past seven days and a Hype Score of 456, it’s been a smaller leap up the charts but still proves that they’re a new pop force to be reckoned with.
New at #2 with a Hype Score of 561, Mississippi songwriter Dent May enters the Hype Chart on the strength of second album Do Things. Signed to Animal Collective‘s Paw Tracks label, woozy indie-pop tracks such as “Home Groan” have been scrobbled by 1,052 listeners in the past week.
The #1 spot also sees an artist with a boost from last week: London drum ‘n bass/dubstep crew Rudimental move up from second place to take the top spot with an improved Hype Score of 685. “Feel The Love” has gained 4,360 listeners in the past week, suggesting that it could become the celebratory anthem of summer 2012.
