Live Gallery - Secret Solstice, Iceland

Billed as the 'Midnight Sun' music festival, the organisers of Secret Solstice were certainly not messing around. The lack of darkness is, at first, unsettling (also exciting) but once your body adjusts, everything starts to click. Keeping track of time is important only to make sure you're catching the acts you want to see. Keeping track of time for any other reason becomes futile as the days blend into the nights with no distinction except for a slight drop in temperature.

Set on the outskirts of Reykjavik, Secret Solstice is gaining a reputation as a must-see for festival fans and after visiting for the first time this year we can see why. On the lineup you'll find some of the finest British exports of recent times (see FKA Twigs, Submotion Orchestra, Skream, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan and Stormzy) as well as international stars such as Wu-Tang Clan, Flight Facilities and Tale of Us. Hip-hop is a key genre in Iceland, so the billing is littered with innovative, homegrown Icelandic hip-hop.

See our gallery from the Saturday of the festival below, featuring secret guest Busta Rhymes, Foreign Beggars, Samaris, Mugison, FM Belfast and of course, the beautiful people of Iceland.
