Author
“Author is made up of Leeds production duo Jack Sparrow and our very own Ruckspin. The project has been running for nearly 2 years with the first (self titled) album coming out on Bristol based Tecktonic Records. The first album is a deeply musical mixture of beats and bass which signature Ruckspin FX and Sparrow’s soulful beats. We’ve been lucky enough hear some tracks from the new album which is already shaping up to be a classic. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to tour with them soon.”

Planas
“Is our exceptional label mate and one of the best producers we know (exemplified by his remixes of our tracks ‘Finest Hour’ and ‘Angel Eyes’. With a cross between soulful hip hop, Dubstep, Krunk and Electro, Planas’ productions are really standing out at the moment and we can’t wait for his new album to hit the shops. He recently put together a live band who supported us on our March 2012 tour and were jaw-droopingly tight seeing as they we’re conceived just months before hitting the road.”

Matthew Halsall
“An amazing Manchester based trumpet player and composer who brings a contemporary edge to his spiritual, soulful music, drawing on the sounds of Alice Coltrane, Miles Davis and jazz of the late 50′s and early 60′s. His band features our very own Taz Modi on piano as well as Rachel Gladwin on the harp, and the phenomenal Luke Flowers on drums. His most recent album ‘On The Go’ won the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards ‘Best Jazz Album’ 2012.”

Gentlemen’s Dub Club
“Possibly the best live act you will ever see, GDC are a frenzied mix of dub, ska, dubstep and roots reggae who have wowed audiences all over Europe for the last 5 years. With two hugely successful EPs released to their name and more on the way 2012 promises to bring a load more for this stunningly talented bunch of guys.”

Matthew Bourne
“The figurehead of the Leeds jazz scene, pianist Matthew Bourne is as exciting as he is chaotic, as beautiful as he is dark, and one of the most lyrical pianists to emerge on the UK scene in years. But it’s the sense of anarchy in all his music that sets him apart from his contemporaries and this is shown in the range and depth of his work with bands like Bourne/Davis/Kane and Bilbao Syndrome. His most recent record Montauk Variations, is an amazing solo album out on the Leaf label.”
