Who You Are Lyrics
I stare at my reflection in the mirror
Why am I doing this to myself?
Losing my mind on a tiny error
I nearly left the real me on the shelf
No, no, no, no, no

Up and coming British female vocalist Jessie Ware will be appearing at Manchester’s Parklife Weekender across the 9th and 10th of June, a festival which Last.fm also has a presence at (SoulclapWolf & LambBicepDrop The Mustard and Zutekh DJs all play our stage on the 10th). With such a packed summer of music ahead, Jessie has kindly picked out five acts she has been enjoying recently.

Brey

“Such an exciting producer. Frenetic, dramatic beats that make you want to dance. Check out his EP Brasil.”

London-based Brey’s Brasil EP has already been scrobbled 535 times since its release yesterday – surely a sign of good things to come. If he continues at this rate he’ll be making a name for himself at festivals sooner rather than later.

Man Like Me

“Used to sing for these guys. You got to catch them live!”

Electronic dance-floor fillers Man Like Me have been scrobbled 164,341 times and represent Jessie’s most scrobbled out of the five on show here. Hailing from north London, the duo are known for their live performances and this has clearly translated well into scrobbles.

Haim

“Can’t stop listening to ‘Forever’. These girls are brilliant. Such a cool group.”

Haim are a trio of sisters from LA playing rock music. Jessie’s favourite song was listened to by 330 listeners last week alone – taking the track’s total scrobble count to 6,862. You can download their EP on their website here.

Javeon McCarthy

“‘Precious’ is such a tune! Great new RnB singer”

Javeon McCarthy’s fans on Last.fm agree with Jessie, with ‘Precious’ being his most listened to track last week.

Two Inch Punch

“People haven’t even heard the best of this guy yet.  Romantic, strong, classy beats and melodies.”

They may not have heard the best of him yet, but Two Inch Punch has already amassed 2,074 listeners on Last.fm, giving him a current total scrobble count of 16,246. His Love You Up EP has been scrobbled 6,059 times with track such as “Love You Up” grabbing 5,384 of those alone.
