Discover 5 Acts with… Clock Opera
Last.fm will be at this year’s Summer Sundae Weekender – a fantastically diverse event showcasing some of the best names from all areas of music. One of those names is Clock Opera and they will be playing the festival on Friday 17th August. The alternative pop group released their album Ways To Forget earlier this year and its reception on Last.fm has been very positive – it’s already been scrobbled 66,545 times. Below the band tell us the five acts they’ve been digging recently:
1. NZCA/lines
“Not a brand new discovery as their album was out earlier this year, but not getting the attention they deserve. If they’re new to you then check out “Okinawa Channels” and “Compass Points”. Really precise & soulful songwriting with great production. ”
2. Wild Swim
“They played with us at a show on our last tour & ‘Another Night’ really pricked my ears up. Really interested to see what they make next.”
3. The Soft
“Blissed-out electronic samplesongs. I imagine listening on headphones in a planetarium may be the best way to full immerse yourself in the many waves and layers.”
4. Mammal Club
“I’m almost boring myself with how much I attempt to force feed Mammal Club into people’s lives. But then I play ‘Towards You With Lust’ another time and continue to bang on.”
5. Post War Years
“Again, not a new band, but with new EP’s coming out, very much worth examining with a fine earpiece. Their first album was great & new stuff is very exciting too.”
