Bobby Long - 1985

The multinational songsmith performs for the last.fm cameras

Bobby Long has historically been a musician of the people, making music that is meaningful to him and growing his fan base organically. He’s taken this fan connection a step further with his latest collection of songs, Ode To Thinking. Linking up with the crowdfunding site PledgeMusic, Bobby has amassed over 800 donors towards funding the record, reaching over 130% of his initial goal.

Ode To Thinking is sort of a hybrid of Bobby Long’s first two full length records. His previous album, Wishbone, was markedly different from his first full-length release, A Winter Tale, which was sparse, intense, and acoustic. Wishbone followed this by delving into a driving rock & roll sound, and featured the musicians he had toured with in support of A Winter Tale. With Ode To Thinking, the drums and expanded instrumentation are back, but a bit more sparse and moody than on Wishbone.

Bobby paid a visit to the Last.fm studios for an acoustic performance of some of the new songs.
