While experiencing the spectacle that is The New York Comic-Con, we were fortunate enough to score a few minutes with the acclaimed song & science-fiction writer Claudio Sanchez (The Prize Fighter Inferno). Following the recent news of their re-scheduled 2012 tour dates (due to Claudio’s prior illness,) as well as the formal announcement of their upcoming US tour sharing the bill with Between The Buried And Me and Russian Circles, Coheed and Cambria have had nothing short of a dynamite year. This all of course coat-tailing the major news that the prog/concept-rock saga will continue in the form of a 2-part prequel album (The Afterman: Ascension *OUT NOW* and Descension (coming Feb. 5th, 2013). Not to mention the initiative of brand new bassist Zack Cooper and the grand return of original lineup drummer: Josh Eppard (Weerd Science). Claudio graciously opens up and dishes all the latest info surrounding the band’s present and future.
Are you the kind of hardcore fan that I am? Then dig deeper as Claudio also fills us in on not only whats forthcoming with his publishing company: Evil Ink. Story-lines continue for The Key of Z as well as Kill Audio, plus we find out whats in store for Coheed and Cambria story-arc universe-based The Amory Wars as well. Mr. Sanchez even entertains us with a little of his own fandom for Conan The Barbarian, Batman and other legacies of geek-dom.
Hopefully we saw you at the Con as well, and if not we hope you get the chance to join in the fun next year. And when you do make sure to swing by the Evil Ink booth and catch up with the man himself because as of right now, there’s now slowing down his creative cognizance.

Don’t forget to check out lead guitarist Travis Stever’s side-project Davenport Cabinet while you are at it.
