It’s not too often that a band severs ties with the label that would be releasing their debut album, but Funeral Party did just that with Fearless Records, opting instead to release their debut album with RCA three years later. Perhaps they made the right decision – the mainstream radio climate in 2011 is far more welcoming of rock-meets-dance music. Golden Age of Nowhere‘s infectious grooves and clever lyrics put this record clear in the running for best album of the year.
