Kristin Diable - Deepest Blue (At CBGB)

The rootsy singer songwriter takes CBGB back to its origins as a Country Blue Grass & Blues venue. Performed on the reassembled CBGB stage at YouTube Studios New York.

Kristin Diable transplanted herself at the age of 18 from Baton Rouge to NYC and brought a significant amount of the roots-rock flavor with her.  The singer-songwriter originally from New Orleans LA, revels in the lush delta-blues history of the swamps as she returns to CBGB (a venue she had previously played during it’s heyday) – recently reassembled within the Youtube Space  Studios in Chelsea.  Kristin takes the distinguished venue back to its origins as a Country Blue Grass & Blues venue while she treats Last.fm to a plethora of musical performance featuring songs from her newest album, Create Your Own Mythology, of which she credits the likes of Neil Young, Nina Simone, Ray Charles and Lucinda Williams as major influencers.

Kristin has cultivated a true New York following, working with the likes of George Stein (best known for advising/managing Jeff Buckley) and regularly gigging many other iconic NYC venues such as The Living Room, The Knitting Factory, and Mercury Lounge.

Kristin specifically notes how during her time in Tangier she witnessed Ramadan first hand; where the constant presence of prayer, chanting, drumming and the triumph of the human spirit lent towards the song “True Devotion” virtually writing itself.
