The Vim Dicta - Interview

CLIP 6:16 | Jun 27, 2013

The Vim Dicta sat down with last.fm after the session to talk about their origins and upcoming album.

Brand-spanking-new band from California, The Vim Dicta, are on a warpath. With their manic and abrasive musical style, they’ve been leaving quite a footprint everywhere they go. When we caught them, they had taken up residence in NYC at a cavernous loft/rehearsal studio in Bushwick to immerse themselves in the gritty New York music community.

The Vim Dicta are bred in the L.A. rock scene. Guitarist/vocalist Matt Tunney has been playing in bands since age 12. Singer/guitarist Corri Elliot and he met in 2009 and have been making music together since. This, the most recent iteration of their sound, finds them touching on qualities reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, The Dead Weather and The Kinks, but sound identical to none of them. They are an exciting punk band with a great affinity for tone and interesting sound quality. They’re a new favorite here at last.fm.
