A$AP Rocky – LONG.LIVE.A$AP
The debut full-length from A$AP Rocky, LONG.LIVE.A$AP features several tracks that have already become favourites among Last.fm listeners. “Goldie” tops his weekly charts with 11,033 listeners in the past seven days, but we can expect the rest of the album tracks to catch up quick, helped by collaborators including Santigold, Drake and Florence Welch among others. With forthcoming dates supporting Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour, we should see A$AP reaching new audiences pretty quickly.
Christopher Owens – Lysandre
Another debut, the strength of Lysandre‘s leak was enough to place Owens at the top of last week’s Hype Chart. Now it’s out for real, we’ll see if that impressive listening trend can continue. Currently counting 5,929 listeners compared to 463,118 for former band Girls, Owens’ chamber pop looks to be stirring up opinion. Check out lead single “Here We Go” below to make up your mind.
Yo La Tengo – Fade
Stalwarts of indie rock, Fade is the New Jersey band’s thirteenth album since 1986. Their most popular track on Last.fm is “Autumn Sweater” from 1997’s I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One, and with such a large back catalogue it might be hard for new tracks to break through – however, it seems that fans are excited judging from their shoutbox and response to new tracks. Have a listen to “Stupid Things” below, and see if it whets your appetite for 26 years of music history…
