a lot of kpop fans call anything halloween-adjacent spooky, but this, THIS is truly an unsettling music video. the glowing figure behind the girls at the end? the drawings? this is ART. this is what i was hoping for, and after the messy album rollout, this totally got me back in. i knew i could trust the girls to deliver. and the song in itself if so good. in a way, i even get why some people hated on it, because it's really 'weird' for kpop standards, but it's done so well. i appreciate it so damn much.

heavy on the first part cuz while I appreciate the usual spooky aesthetic mvs, i was desperate for a horror concept that is genuinely so uncanny and mysterious and this delivered exactly that!! last time smth visually gave me a similar feel was with txt 'nap of a star' (both done by same director team) but Birth is so unique in a sense that it felt like pure analog horror

i really missed creative concepts like this in kpop, it's horror but not overly dark, it's a bit more "artistic" and unsettling. and the song is amazing, especially THAT DNB PART OH MY GOD

i'm a sucker for this kind of concept! the unsettling horror this girls going to face through the music video. this give me major ethel cain and yeule vibes? i don't know if that ever makes sense. but i'm glad that this kind of creativity still happening in kpop. i'm kind of tired to see the same concept over and over again.
