On “IDGAF,” Yeat speaks about his nonchalant-like personality—playing on the song’s title, an acronym for “I Don’t Give A Fuck.” Believed to be a diss track on an unnamed former friend and collaborator, Yeat taunts the target’s lack of originality whilst flexing his wealth, success, and lyrical talent—expressing a need for Yeat if he wants to see success in the music industry.
Recorded in late 2021, Yeat had no intention of dropping the fan favorite, although snippets were released periodically throughout 2021 to 2023—only building more hype for the bass-heavy track.
Following the built up hype from BNYX and Yeat, fans expected “IDGAF” to be on Yeat’s fifth studio album, LyfëStyle. However, Drake would seem to get a hold of the track after cosigning Yeat multiple times throughout 2023. The confirmation of Drake releasing the song would be through a Nike x NOCTA brand collab on September 13, 2023, which was later followed by an Instagram post by Drake with the caption stating:
"Music by Twizz and The Boy"
"YEAT CARRY"
