1of1 is Hardrock’s long-awaited debut studio album, following up October 2022’s SLATTYDON.
Hardrock first teased about a new album back in April 2022, where he took to Twitter speaking about the album, stating:
"When I drop my FIRST album just know shi will change the world…shi gon change the game"
He continued to speak about the album via another tweet he posted on July 5, 2022, after releasing his throwaway mixtape 808 Speaker Knockerz, in which he states:
"Shi was really jus throwaways… y’all don’t even the half of what I have in the vault… 1st ALBUM coming soon…hope your ready…❤️🩹"
“bleh” would serve as the album’s lead single, released on August 21, 2022. Five days later, “not afraid” was released as the album’s second and final single.
After continuing to tease the album, on September 8, 2022, Hardrock took to Twitter hinting on the album’s title in which the caption simply reads: “1OF1.” Hardrock would soon confirm on Twitter the title of the album and would be coming soon:
"1OF1… soon. SHI GON CHANGE THE GAME…promise❤️🩹"
To help promote the album, on October 31, 2022, Hardrock released an EP titled SLATTYDON, to which it contained more throwaway tracks off the album.
Entering into the New Year, on January 2, 2023, Hardrock took to Twitter hinting fans if they are ready for the album. After keeping radio silent on the album, on August 15, he took to social media revealing both the artwork and tracklist.
On the day of the album’s release, the track “timing” was added as a bonus track on YouTube.
