This is such a compelling and well rounded compilation with such rich compositions, that it works better than a lot of albums. The consistency and coeherence in the progression of the tracks is amazing, it flows perfectly. Sound and songwritting is amazing on this one as well, it's like the middle point of the rich production from Queen is Dead forward, while maintaining the rawness of the first album with a cleaner and more vivid sound. Wouldn't trade any of the re-recorded versions here compared to their originals, but i still love them.. but the new tracks, god, they are something else.

Usually I'd never listen to compilation albums, but this one is just too good. [2]

Girl Afraid, where do his intentions lay? Or does he even have any? She says, "He doesn't even look at me. I give him every opportunity." In the room downstairs, she sat and stared...in the room downstairs, she sat and stareddd

God, I love this album so much that even with how long it is, it still feels like it goes by so quick. I guess that just goes to show how incredible it is.

I know it's a compilation but this is my favorite album of them. Hell, might be my favorite album overall.

This is the "best sounding" Smiths compilation. The Rough Trade issued vinyls and cds, in particular. Love listening to this with headphones on. d - - b
