Like Bruce Springsteen meets post-rock. It's insane how well that combo works.

The US government liked this band so much that they named a global campaign after it.

i don't live here anymore is a grower. I changed my mind.. it's a record i'm listening to more often now. Might be the one u spin more between lost in the dream and a deeper understanding.. it's definitely more acessible and for a casual listening. That doesn't mean it's a commercial or bad album at all though.

If this band wanted people to follow covid protocol, they'd be called The War on Hugs

Boring at first, but don't let that stop you from giving it multiple listening sessions, it's The War on Drugs after all, of course they will sound boring at first. It's a gradual movement in LitD and ADU trajectory, Bruce Spr./U2/Phil Collns stylistically, another 10 bangers from a great band.

Their peak was with the combo lost in the dream/a deeper understanding. The new album is not as good as those two. I'll take it. It's natural and inevitable eventually as their music was always top notch with those two albums. I'm skeptical in buying a physical copy judging at those ridiculous prices. I would have this gifted to me rather, we'll see.. i'll rather invest my money on a vinyl of lost in the dream as i miss that one
